Frequently Asked Questions ~ Tell us more about the suites ~ Is this a Bed and Breakfast? The inn has the outward appearance of a bed and breakfast in order to conform with the architectural requirements of the City of Leavenworth which requires that the building have similar characteristics to the buildings around it. However, the inn is not a bed and breakfast. The inn has suites located on two levels. There is not a basement so the first level is ground level (near the pond and lighted fountain) with the second level directly above. The inn is located just inside a residential area. This was done intentionally. The City of Leavenworth plays loud German music through speakers placed throughout the area from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm everyday. We intentionally selected a property located inside of a residential area (outside of the range of the speakers) so that our guests would not be subjected to the ongoing music during their stay at the Alps Romance Suites. The suites are self sufficient and have a microwave and a wine cooler. The suites do not have a refrigerator. All guests are independent from the other suites and experience complete privacy. Since there is privacy, can we do whatever we want to do? Unfortunately you will need to adhere to the rules designed to ensure comfort for all of our guests. The rules are in place to ensure that everyone enjoys their stay at the Alps Romance Suites. Why do you have rules? We all come from different points of view in that one person may find that there is not a problem of smoking inside a suite. Another guests may have allergies to smoke and can become uncomfortable in the suite if there had been smoke in it. Similar issues arise in regards to pets, various levels of noise, and the affording of privacy. At the Alps Romance Suites, we have worked hard to create an environment in which all guests can feel comfortable and enjoy the privacy, peace, solitude, and luxury amenities that is offered at the Alps Romance Suites. Therefore, to ensure that all guests can experience all that is offered we need to have rules in place that everyone needs to adhere to. We appreciate your understanding of our desires to ensure that everyone has a wonderful experience. Can we bring our infant? Sorry. To ensure that all of our guests have a romantic experience at the Alps Romance Suites children of all ages are not permitted. What size is the hot tub and do we have to share the hot tub? The hot tub is a full size hot tub. You do not have to share the hot tub as each suite has it's own hot in it's own gazebo. Is the hot tub located inside or outside? Hot tubs that are located inside can create damage to the interior walls. Therefore, each hot tub is located just outside your French doors and is located inside it's own romantic and brand new gazebo which is approximately 7 feet away and is completely private in which no one can see inside and no one can see outside of the gazebo that the hot tub is in. Each suite has robes that guests can wear while entering and exiting the hot tubs. The guests have consistently expressed their enjoyment of having their own private hot tub as well as finding the gazebo to be romantic. Can we bring bubble bath for the hot tub? Unfortunately, it is very important that no substances be added to the hot tub water. The hot tubs are maintained with chemicals to ensure that the water remains clean. Adding anything else to the hot tub water will prevent the chemicals from working properly. Where is the Infra-red Sauna located? Each suite has it's own Infra-red sauna located inside of each suite. This also affords significant privacy. The sauna is a wonderful experience that guests enjoy after a day of shopping, hiking, or skiing. Can we bring friends with us so they can use the facilities/amenities? Unfortunately no. All of the amenities are for the guests only. Can we play music in the suite? Each suite has romantic music playing softly in the background as you enter your suite. However, we ask that guests refrain from playing their own music as the noise can travel to other suites. Please keep in mind that peace and harmony is something that is sought after by all guests at the Alps Romance Suites and we do everything that we can to ensure a peaceful environment for our guests during their stay with us. Can we smoke inside the suites and bring pets with us? Sorry. There is no smoking inside the suites. Guests may smoke outside on the property. Pets are not allowed anywhere on the property. We understand that your pet may be well trained. However, some of our guests may have allergies to pets. To ensure the comfort of all of our guests pets are not permitted. Do you offer coffee? Each suite has a basket that contains coffee and tea packets and associated items. There is also a small coffee brewing pot in each suite. How far are the shops from the suites and can we walk to the shops? The beginning of the shopping experience is located approximately 3 blocks from the suites and guests can walk to the shops and most activities. Since parking in Leavenworth directly at the gift stores is very limited, guests have enjoyed the opportunity to walk to the gift shops and activities. Are there grocery stores nearby? There is a small grocery store located about 3/4 mile from the suites. Safeway is located approximately 1 mile from the suites. Safeway also has a gas fueling station at that location. Are there video stores nearby? There is a small library of movie videos in each suite. In addition, Leavenworth Video is located approximately 3/4 mile from the suite. Safeway also offers video rentals. Is there a movie theater located in Leavenworth? There is a movie theater located approximately 4 blocks from the suites. Is there parking available for the guests? Yes, there is free parking located at the suites with each suite having only one parking spot per suite. What are the sizes of the suites? The suites are identical and are of average size. The exact measurements of the suites are: Main room is 12'6" x 18'1" and the full bathroom is 4'10" x 12'6". The suites are approximately 291.48 square feet. What are the views from each suite? Leavenworth is located in a small valley in the mountains. Mountains surround the inn giving each suite territorial mountain views. Will we see any wildlife during our stay? Wildlife is abundant but they decide when they will appear. We have deer and bear that frequent the inn. The deer nibble on the flowers and the bear likes to use the small front pond and fountain as it's own bathtub with a built-in shower, much to our dismay:). The bear usually splashes quite a bit of water outside of the pond. The bear also likes to snack on the fish that are in the pond. The deer are more active during the day and the bear will only appear during the night when it is sure that humans are not outside. The bear has an incredible sense of smell and avoids humans. Why are you less expensive than some of the other lodging establishments? Historically, the rates for the suites have been higher. However, we understand the effect that the economy has had. We intentionally offer the suites at a rate so that our guests can afford a romantic get-a-way with all of the luxury amenities. ~ We have tried to answers as many questions as we could think of and provide our guests with information that they may want to know or that our guests have inquired of in the past.
